I am trying to break new boundaries in mountaineering and become the first double above-knee amputee in history to complete the 7 Summits (the highest peaks on each continent) – a
recognised feat only 500 people in history have ever achieved.

This is a journey that started back in 2018 when I fought the supreme court to allow me to climb Mt. Everest. It was always a childhood dream but having lost my legs in Afghanistan in 2010 and battled to come to terms with my life as an amputee, I wanted to drive a change around perceptions of disability.
Summiting Mt. Everest in May 2023 was a great start, but it isn’t enough to show people once. I need to do it over and over to inspire real change. The 7 Summits challenge is my chance to do just that, in every corner of the world. And so my next challenge begins.
CONQUERED SUMMITS

May 2023 - Mt. Everest (8,849m), Asia
January 2020 - Mt. Kilimanjaro (5,895m), Africa
August 2019 - Mt. Blanc* (4,810m), Europe
STILL TO SUMMIT
Denali (6,190m), North America
Aconcagua( 6,961m), South America
Puncak Jaya (4,884m), Oceania
Mt. Vinson (4,892m), Antarctica
In completing this monumental challenge, I hope to raise awareness of disability around the world and positively change how people with disabilities are perceived and how they perceive themselves.
I want to show what the human spirit can achieve when you remove limitations. Through my climbs I hope to motivate others to push beyond their own limits and inspire them to climb their own ‘mountains’ no matter the adversity.
